Verizon Receives Award From AIDS Project Los Angeles

At an awards event held August 7, 2003, Verizon was presented with an award for being the Third Place fund-raising team at the 2002 AIDS Walk LA. Accepting the award was Cathy Fisher, Verizon AIDS Walk Team Leader. The Verizon team advanced from ninth place the previous year to capture the third place position. A 'Certificate of Appreciation' from James Hahn, Mayor of Los Angeles, was also presented.

Thanks to the hard work of Cathy Fisher, the walk participants, and the Verizon Foundation, the Verizon team raised over $28,000 for this vital organization. The event was a great opportunity to showcase the commitment of Verizon and it's employees to the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender community and to the programs and services provided by AIDS Project Los Angeles.
